Veterans Bingo
Once having gotten everyone off the buses and seated in the hall, Chet Teater Welcomed the
Vets to the Post. Arrangements were made for those in Electric Wheel chairs to set at the tables.
Each Vet was able to have a volunteer assist them if they so desired. There were also volunteers
standing by to get drinks or other refreshments for them
For every Bingo, that person picked an envelope. Each envelope contained money of various
denominations. As Bingo progressed the search for the right envelope became more intense, as one
contained $50. It put a lot of smiles on everyone's faces.
The main course for the Vets was our famous Fish Fry. They greatly
appreciated their meal with Pizza from Three Brothers Pizza in Middleville.
The ALR provided a sack ditty bag with socks, soap, candy,
deck of playing cards, ink pen, notepad and other  toiletries.
At 4:30 it was time to go. The Vets were
helped by the volunteers to get ready
All in all everyone had a great time and it seems as though the Volunteer's may have
had a better time than the Vets. Much discussion took place in the Lounge following
the Veterans departure.

It wasa good day for the Veterans of the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans. 28 Vets
showed up with about half a dozen workers with them. The Legion, Auxiliay, SAI,
ALR, Military Moms and numerous folks in the community showed up to help.

Thank you again to Cindy Teater for providing the excellent pictures. She gave an
individual picture to each Veteran or spouse. All the Vets enjoyed posing.
Special guests were Mr. & Mrs. Bob Roush,
whose son, Nick Roush was killed in
Afghanistan this past summer. They brought
gifts for each of the Vets.
We were also pleased to Welcome
Home Cpl. Mike Abbott USMC.
His mother was in attendance
helping with the Vets and Mike
became our newest member.
