like to thank all those involved with this years
Veterans Day Ceremony.

On Monday 11-11-14 a group of members, representing our Post, went to the Emmons Lake
Elementary School for their annual Veterans Day ceremony. The Color Gourd was made up
of Ron Shook, Gary Marzean,  Phil Shook, Tom Basarabski, and John Jousma. Also in
attendance from the Post were Buff Rodgers, Gary Timmermans, Dan Terrell and Bill White.
Ceremonies at the Post began at 7 PM. Commander Gary Marzean welcomed all in attendance and had the Color
Guard, consisting of Ron Shook, Phil Shook, Jim McConnon, Dan Terrell, Jerry Huver and Doug Mills, Post The
Colors. Monica Duffield sang our National Anthem, Chaplain Gary Timmermans offered the opening prayer, followed
by Chet Teater Sargent-At-Arms, Julee Peterson Senior Vice Commander, Lisa Hyde, President of the Auxiliary
Commander Bill Duffield and Dan Wisniewski Adjutant, each had a few words commemorating Veterans Day.
Returning Service members, Army Sargent First Class Scott Baldwin and Navy Commander Chuck Murgia expressed
their appreciation to the Post for their support while serving in Afghanistan. Past Legionnaire of the Year, Tom
Basarabski presents Dan Erskine with Post Legionnaire of the Year for 2015.
Thereafter the order was given to "Salute the Dead". The SAL Firing Squad then carried out a 21 gun salute.  "Taps" were
preformed by John (Buff) Rodgers. Commander Gary Marzean closed the ceremonies by asking Chaplain Gary Timmermans
for the closing prayer and then inviting everyone for some refreshments. A good crowd was on hand for the observance.
A Big Thank You to the Boy Scouts of Caledonia for the part they played in
our Veterans Day ceremony.
