|The New Year's Day had painting being done at the house. Saturday brought
out the folks installing smoke detectors, motion detectors and alarm detectors.
Work continued on trim molding, prep work and more painting. Bill Neil,
from Caledonia Memorial Post 305 provided Chili and Sloppy Joe's for lunch.
|The overhead track for lifting Josh out of his bed
and transporting him into the master bath to the
sinks, whirlpool and shower was completed.
|On Saturday more electrical work was done in the house placing ceiling fans
and other electrical outlets. Workers of all ages helped with that project. Also
the garage drywall taping and mudding began.
|On Sunday cleaning was done in preparation for the crew from QUALITY HARDWOOD
FLOOR INSTALLATION that came in Monday and started laying the hardwood flooring.
|By the end of the day on Tuesday all the floor was laid and
trim around the baseboards was ready to be nailed.
|By Saturday all trim work was done, counter tops installed in the kitchen and bathrooms and
the garage was finished. On Saturday more electrical work was completed, refrigerater, stove
and oven were installed while numerous inspectors looked on, including Josh. He was able to
see his basement for the first time. The Boy Scouts arrived and installed the mailbox.
|Many small and unseen items have been taken care over the course of 13 days in preparations for
the day of "Key Turnover". On Friday much activity took place at the house. Appliances were
checked for functionality, the TV for the slide show was set up by the crew from "Booster
Multimedia". The snow was a slight problem but with the help of Ed Harmon of "FCC" and their
loader, Tom Fischer of "Coldwater Express" and "Barry County Road Commission" enough
room was made for the following days visitors. It just so happens that Josh and Heathers new
house is located half and half on Hastings and Middleville's fire district. A guided tour was given
to both fire department officials. Some pictures were taken of some of the primary volunteers who
spent countless hours working on this labor of love. Chet Teater Coordinator and Bill Bravata
General Contractor were key.
