Sr. Vice: Larry Schans
Jr. Vice: John Connolly
Adjutant: Tom Basarabski
Finance Office: Rich DeYoung
Chaplain: Bill Lysdahl
Historian: John “Buffalo” Rodgers
Sgt. at Arms: Gary Marzean
Executive Board (at large): Phil Davis, Larry Stauffer, Allan Jousma, Bill White
Bar & Operations: Allan Jousma, Phil Shook

Come out and support these new officers as we have done in the past.

Hit the Streets truck load of food giveaway was a huge success with many members of the Legion,
SAL, Auxiliary, and Boy Scouts available to help. I would like to thank Gary Timmermans for
organizing and leading us through this day of giving. We gave food out to 113 families and we would
like to do this again next year.

Have a great summer see you in the fall.

                                                                                           Randy Phillips Jr.

                                                           From the Auxiliary President

Hello Ladies!!

Well Memorial Day has come and gone. I want to personally thank everyone who helped set-up,
clean-up and make all those wonderful dishes to pass --we did have plenty of great food to serve to all
the parade participants and more. A special thanks to all of you that marched in the parade.

Despite the terrible rainy weather, our annual plant swap was a success. A lot of people got involved
to donate plants, pick up new plants or do some swapping. I want to thank everyone for their
participation to help make this happen. I know it takes a lot of work to make this event so successful
– Rain or shine.

The Veteran’s Turkey hunting luncheon was very much enjoyed by all. A special thank you goes out
to the Ladies who set up and serve -- and to John Crissman for donating the Hamburg for the
barbeques. I’d like to also send a thank you to everyone that helped set-up and make desserts for the
5th District meeting we sponsored. The ladies were real pleased.

May was our last meeting of the “year”. We had our election of officers and they will be sworn in at
our next meeting on September 8th. Remember the meetings always start at 7:00pm with Social hour
beginning at 6:00pm. The elected officer’s are as follows: President: Kristen Lazarski, Vice President:
Sandra Holt, Secretary: Penny Kirk,
Treasurer: Carrie Tolan, Chaplin: Karen Mills, and Historian: Linda Sworthout.

Once again, I would like to thank all the Auxiliary members, SAL and Legion members for
supporting all the food events we have sponsored this year. It’s a takes a lot of continued dedication
to the Legion family and community to give all that we can together. Thank you very, very much!!

Make a great day….

                                                                                                                      Kristen Lazarski

                                                                From the SAL Commander

First of all, I would like to thank Jerry Huver, John Arrigo and all of those who helped with "HIT the
STREETS" Food Project and helping our community on May 15th.
Also a big gratitude of THANKS to Jim Gless and Jim "IRONWORKER" Haisma and crew for
installing the flags at the Caledonia Cemetery as our Flag Memorial Veterans Project honoring our
deceased veterans. The Son's have put together a special display in the hall in honor of six veterans
that have been KIA throughout the conflicts of war. Please stop by the hall and see the display.

As your newly elected commander I am very proud and excited to have been elected. I intend to
continue to accomplish along with you as members in helping our veterans and our community. We
will continue to hold fund raisers as we have done in the past and hope to continue in the future.

"COW PIE BLUES FEST" on August 12-13. We are in need of volunteers for this so why not help
out and enjoy some great "blues music". Details to come at our next meeting. Also any ideas for
future fund raisers are always needed. We still need volunteers to work the Texas Hold Em on June 3.
We have over 100 current SAL members at the post. It sure would be nice to see some new faces at
the meetings.

Our next meeting is June 14th "Flag Day". Happy Hour at 6:00pm, meeting at 7:00pm. Rumor has it
a renowned chef will be cooking prior to the meeting. So plan on attending!!

Hope to see you there.
